Township Of Clearview

Town of StaynerThe Township of Clearview, one of the southernmost municipalities in our area, was established in 1994 by the amalgamation of the four former municipalities of the Town of Stayner, The Village of Creemore, and the Townships of Nottawasaga and Sunnidale. Each of these municipalities brings a distinct history and character to the new township. The charming village of Creemore was named by Harrowsmith magazine as “one of the ten prettiest towns in Canada ” and I’d have to agree. With a population of about 1300 residents, its tree-lined main street is graced by grand century homes and a quaint downtown with unique shops and restaurants. It’s here you will find the popular Creemore Springs Brewery and a tiny tourist attraction – the smallest jail in North America . The village itself is tucked into the Mad River Valley and is surrounded by rolling land called the Purple Hills. To the north, you’ll find Stayner which has a population of 3100 people. It calls itself the “Town of Friendly People ” but also wants you to know that it is the home of the Stayner Siskins hockey team. Weekly hockey games are a favourite activity of the local population who also keep busy through the many local service clubs and churches. Stayner’s largest industry is Reinhart Vinegars. There is a local high school, two elementary schools, a grocery store, medical centre and bustling downtown making it a good choice for families. Clearview is also home to numerous farm operations, rural estates and to Osler Bluff ski club – the oldest established private club in the area.

Population: 13,800 full-time plus 3,000 part-time
