Chances are, if you have ever called or visited Marg’s office, we have already spoken to one another. If you haven’t phoned or visited us before, please allow me to introduce myself: I am Chris McCormick, Sales Person, REALTOR® and Marg’s Licensed Assistant. Marg and I have been working together in the real estate field since the early nineties. We share many things: an office, a history, volunteer work, real estate, stories, secrets, ups and downs, family, a close friendship and a wacky sense of humour.

I met Marg in the early 1990’s when I was managing the Equity Centre in Collingwood, working as a mortgage broker. When illness felled the owner, and the recession felled its profitability, the company closed. I took Marg up on her kind offer to join her in her practice – to work together with her as a real estate team. I had previously been a lender and an Assistant Manager at a financial institution, had grown up helping a REALTOR® dad in the real estate game in the 1960’s and I had sold everything from makeup to pumps to air conditioners to bras shaped like the Golden Gate Bridge. I fancied that “real estate” might be a challenge and a good fit for my personality and Marg was (and is) my favourite REALTOR®. The rest, as they say, is history.

In one capacity or another, I have been helping people find, keep, finance or sell homes or businesses for most of the past two decades. I am the member of Marg’s team you are most likely to speak to first when you call Marg’s direct line during the day. Like Marg, marketing is something I love and between the two of us our listing clients are treated to a great deal of creativity in the plan for listing and selling their home. I take pride in paying attention to the details of your purchase or sale and I have an excellent track record with getting information on just about any topic. You might say I am the “t” crosser and the “i” dotter and I am a stickler for details. I am not only able to find you your dream home or to help Marg do so, but I am also adept at finding answers, negotiating, investigating, researching and proposing resolutions. Listening, reassuring, supporting and finding the right words at the right time are all part of what I love about my job. I enjoy celebrating the successes of our clients, and after doing this for all these years, I still get excited when I get word that a deal has closed and the keys can be delivered; whether from our Seller or to our Buyer.

On the home front, I am a very proud mom and biggest fan to my two children: Meghan, a wonderful, caring high school teacher; and Jeffrey, a university student studying to become a teacher. (I know, I know, I seem WAY too young to have children that old, but alas, it's true!) Oops, I almost forgot my youngest, Buddy, a bossy Shih-Tzu who is also kind-of-brilliant, a little-beautiful and a somewhat-talented human being, I mean dog. I love to cook and gather friends and family over at my modest but comfy home which is close, but not on, the lake, for my latest culinary experiment – I mean - creation. My family is my “raison d’etre” and we are a close-knit bunch, who enjoys sneaking every moment we can into our busy schedules to be together.

When I am not involved in helping others find their dream home, I can usually be found volunteering for a favourite cause and I am delighted to be a member of various committees for the Georgian Triangle Real Estate Board.
